Great article, Robert. And just as Lincoln (an Aquarius) distributed or decentralized freedom, let's hope that Obama can decentralize the wealth.

This process as described in Robert's excellent article above has already been in motion: USA is rapidly becoming a third world nation. Redistribution of wealth has already occurred, and continues to spiral upward. Our current health care programs rate well below that of other nations. We have one of the highest infant mortality rates and obesity rates in the world.

It is my belief as a geopolitical astrological thinker, that No Moment in Time "captures" the entirety of the truth of the historical evolution; but rather, is a culmination point that symbolically recognizes the penetrating truth of one-thousand related sequenced events. These events must be studied in their wholistic entirety over a Plutonian cycle to a precise point (in this case 0 degrees Capricorn) to understand clearly the radical shifts occurring at the underbelly of societal geopolitical cycles of transformation.

Great post, Robert! I especially enjoyed the historical context of the prior Saturn/Uranus oppositions and Medicare; that's the sort of well-considered research we need more of in the astrological community. And many reports are now focusing on October 15 as the likely target date for a final bill, which conforms very closely to the Jupiter station October 12 which you referenced.

Also to be considered for the chart of the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction is the placement of several significant minor bodies - of course centaur Chiron, with its connections to healing, is exactly conjunct, but asteroid Apollo, named for the Greek god of healing, is tightly squared at 25 Taurus, and asteroid Panacea, goddess of medicines, is exactly inconjunct from 26 Cancer. The nature of the debate, focusing on fear and deception (Neptune) and bombast (Jupiter)is inherent in the conjunction itself, but also colored by asteroid Pandora, the unleashing of unexpected consequences, closely conjoined at 27 Aquarius, and damocloid Damocles, the potential doom hanging overhead, which is approaching at 21 Aquarius.

Thanks again for a most informative and thoughtful post!

I was so immenseley impressed with Robert's blog on the health care reform issue. Firstly, he is so careful in setting the stage for the play we are watching. Then he so astutely chooses the pertinent examples that so accurately demonstrate his thesis and the planetary symbolism. And it is all done in such an ego-free manner that you feel he truly lives what he writes and believes. Thank you deeply Robert and all at TMA.

I am so glad to see these social and economic inequities and need for reform being given such exquisite attention in the astrological community. It is good to see how the writer and others can see possibilities in this Aquarian stellium for an end to the reign of terror - the misuse of power for the ends of the wealthy establishment. You speak of Krugman's anaysis being in sync, so I encourage you to read his first article in the Conscience of a Liberal blog (and book by the same name) where he provides a chart that clearly delineates the demise of the socio-economic middle class in the last thirty years through deregulation and manipulating of the tax codes by those in power (and who are in the pockets of the plutocrats).

I, personally, am wondering, at this juncture, what the cardinal t-square with Saturn in Libra may add to (or detract from) these possibilities of restoring equity. Could Saturn, exalted in Libra, possibly play the good guy here in substantiating more equitable practices that liberate the many oppressed from the thoughtless greed of the few? (Mainly the top .01 % who rarely pay any taxes at all?)

Without some action being taken at this time (end October, 2009 - 2010), we may be in store for intense protests and/or revolutionary acts (Uranus moves into Aries squaring Pluto--their first major connection since the conjunction in the sixties during a time of great social unrest).

Robert, thank you. Kate, Tem and I all love this piece. It's a beautiful article.

Here's something I just read about the uneven distribution of wealth, surely one key indicator of the state of societal ills that Aquarius is destined to change:
"Income inequality in the United States is at an all-time high, surpassing even levels seen during the Great Depression, according to a recently updated paper by University of California, Berkeley Professor Emmanuel Saez. The paper, which covers data through 2007, points to a staggering, unprecedented disparity in American incomes. On his blog, Nobel prize-winning economist and New York Times columnist Paul Krugman called the numbers 'truly amazing.' "
